Douglas Barnard

Digital Software Product Executive/ CEO/ Managing Director, Husband and Dad

I have more than 25 years of experience in technology with Senior Executive experience across every function of a technology business including corporate vision and strategy as the Chief Executive Officer, marketing and sales management, agile software engineering management, software implementations management, hardware and infrastructure deployment management, solutions and architecture design, contract management, financial management (P&L), operations, software support, services management, and client relationship management.

My experience ranges from being the founder and CEO of a digital technology start-up within the USA to holding the position of Australasia Managing Director for a specialized leading software company and senior positions in large corporations from a variety of industries incl. financial services, healthcare information technology systems, pharmacy benefit management information technology systems, health insurance information technology systems, information technology services management.

I have led diverse teams from 5 to 245 as a leader of directors and manager of managers. My most recent position had me leading a USA subsidiary of a global eCommerce product -and services organization as CEO. I am currently involved in a Blockchain-based Digital Asset Hub development project where I am a Co-Founder and as Founder of Perfectly Imperfect Digital LLC my days are filled with excitement doing what I love.

My experience and qualifications have earned me some highly sought-after professional achievements including the highest standard in leadership and management by reaching Chartered Manager status as endorsed by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) in the UK. I am also an Australian Computer Society Certified Professional and hold Fellowship status of both the Australian Institute of Managers and Leadership and the Australian Marketing Institute where I have achieved Certified Practising Marketer status.

I have a personal interest in all digital technologies and business models and have spent considerable time and effort in staying up to date with developments in the digital domain, and my formal qualifications and certifications underpin my interest in all things digital. Blockchain and crypto is an areas where I have a special interest as I firmly believe in the disruptive qualities of the technology underpinning the blockchain.

I have been fortunate to work in all three primary regions in the world during my career including EMEA, APAC, and the Americas, and are culturally educated and experienced at a global level.

Outside of work, I am a husband and a blessed dad. I am also a proud Royal Australian Air Force veteran and inactive reserve officer, and I am an amateur photographer who loves traveling and nature. I also love motorcycling and mountain biking and family fun on the pontoon boat.
